The Skinny

If you are in junior high or high school, are interested in computers, like building things, and do reasonably well in math class, we would love to have you.

Date: Saturday, February 18th

Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Location: Kurz Purdue Technology Center

                 1281 Win Hentschel Blvd.

                 West Lafayette, IN 47906

Cost: $25 to cover facilites, course materials and lunch

What to Bring: A laptop, paper, pen and ethernet cable (let us know if bringing these items poses a problem). 


You’ll Learn

We will write a few animations and  basic games using the javascript programming language. Our code will run in a web browser. At the end of the day, we will post our work to the internet to share with your friends and family. Along the way, you’ll learn some basics of programming, animation, and web technologies. We hope you’ll have fun and that the day will whet your apptetite to the amazing world of creating software!


The Teachers

The class will be taught by Ben Brame and Zach Mason. Ben and Zach learned to program computers in junior high and high school by writing 2D video games. They are the founders of Allegro Dynamics, a software design company specializing in web and mobile technologies.
